The Incredible Strength of the Human Spirit
The last book I read was very recent. It was a relatively old book but was reproduced in a trilogy. The book was by author Dave Pelzer. It was an incredibly inspirational story of triumph against all odds. This book was titled “My Story” and contained three mini stories of the author’s life. The first was “A Child Called It”, the second “The Lost Boy, and the conclusion was “A Man Named Dave. This story was about one of the ugliest stories of child abuse on record. It was a heart wrenching account of abuse committed by the nurturer, the mother of the abused child. The abuse was psychological and physical and was used to systematically attempt to make this child feel that “he” did not exist. That he was only an “IT”. I came away awestruck by the power of the human spirit to triumph over evil that men perpetrate against others.
