Ombudsman

So what can i do? I decided to go to ombudsman, when i called to advise Vodafone that i will do this, lady on phone very politely offered me 4 months of free access and 2 years of free bills including last one year which i don’t want as i got one? Anyway i went ahead with ombudsman idea and got a huge disappointment that companies are only obliged to keep record for 2 years so nothing can be done? To make matter more sweeter, Vodafone has accepted its mistake of charging me more and have put 7 months free on my bill but my question to them was why it happened at first place and how many customers like me would be there getting sweet rip offs without their knowledge?
