There are many home safety tips that need to be practiced by children as well as adults. Starting first with the home safety tips that children need to be taught to practice, children should know not to open the front door to someone they do not know or to anyone other than a relative if no one else is home. Adults need to remember not to broadcast the fact that they will be out of town too loudly to neighbors and especially not on social networking sites such as facebook. While most people that can view your profile on facebook will not break into your home, there are always some people that are not trustworthy and so it is just easier not to mention that you are going to be away on vacation in such a way.

My husband decided to buy a folding fire escape ladder for each room on the upper levels of our house. When he brought them home he wanted to try one out to see how easy it was. He hooked one up and proceeded to go down it. As he was climbing down I noticed that it wasn’t hooked up correctly and as I was telling him, well he and the ladder fell. I had to laugh it was hilarious, but I did make sure he was okay. The good news is that the window was on the second floor and he was pretty far down.

My friend just called me and told me her husband is trying to talk her into buying a fire warden kit. I have no idea what that is so I just laughed at her. She than began to tell me what comes in the kit like a Hi-viz jacket and light sticks. She then told me that it also comes with an emergency gas horn. I was laughing so hard I started to cry. I just imagined her comic book loving husband trying to be a take charge guy in an emergency. I mean I was there when their son was born he passed out the second they walked into the hospital.

Keeping your home and family fire safe safe requires a few precautions. Being sure that you have smoke alarms installed is just one. While most homes now have smoke alarms, not all homes ensure that they are working. A bad habit that many have is taking the alarm down or the battery out to avoid hearing the alarm going off when cooking. Each home should make it a point to prohibit this. Often batteries are left out and the alarm is unable to do the job for which it is intended. In addition each home should have fire extinguishers. One should be in the kitchen and one on each level of the home. This includes the basement and the garage.

Regardless of the building there always seem to be one around. The last one I went to seemed to have several. I guess it makes the work place safe. I have never actually seen one in use. They look a little complicated as they seem quite long and heavy. I do not think I could cope if there was a fire. I certainly would not be attempting to put the fire out. I would have left the building a long time ago. I think I would be good at letting myself out in a hurry in order to escape the inferno.

Carbon Monoxide is a dangerous gas that many people are not aware of. Also known as the “Silent Killer” carbon monoxide is colorless and odorless. With many older homes all across the United States, many residents are not protected from the dangers of this gas. With the installation of a carbon monoxide alarm you can help improve the safety of your home and family. This detectors can be placed either on the ceiling of your home or close to floor. The reason for this is because CO has roughly the same density of that as normal air. Just go to a local home supply store today to ask how to protect your home from carbon monoxide.

if you have just moved into a new home with your family and have a lot of children it is wise to have some safety measures around the house. You should keep all doors unlocked in case there is a fire and a fire extinguisher is also very useful. You should keep all loose wires tucked safely away in case animals eat them and also use only fire retardant as it prevents a widespread fire breaking out and hurting you and damaging your home. This is a really useful practice and you will not regret having these measures if an accident occurs. It will help keep your home safe using this.

When you think of home safety, what comes to mind? Smoke detectors, security systems, and carbon monoxide detectors are all items commonly utilized in many people’s homes as a means of protection. However, with statistics showing that over 380000 reported home fires in the United States alone, it is clear that more precautions should be taken to ensure the safety of you and your loved ones. Many people are content to rely solely upon their smoke detectors when it comes to fire emergencies, but while these devices may act as an early warning system, far too many fire deaths still occur in homes where a smoke alarm is present and working. By keeping a fire extinguisher on hand, you could greatly minimize the damage to property unless you use a fire proof box to protect your valuables. Fire extinguishers are inexpensive and easy to handle. Don’t leave your safety to chance. Invest in a fire extinguisher. Your life may depend on it.

Fire is one of the most disaster elements on this earth. Human always come up with different solutions so that we can rescue more and more people if they stuck in fire. But before all the solutions people have to aware of safety rules and what should they do during that period. We should plan like this that our house or office must have an emergency exit door with panic bolts, so that we can open the door easily. Panic bolts for fire doors are of two types one is in the form of handle and other one breaks into two pieces. Safety is always in our hands so always being alert.
